When did Canada become a lackey of France? Why should we worry about France when they haven't won a single war sense the First Crusade? Canada is anything but violent. People who think Canada to be threatening are even more paranoid than I am. Believe me, anyone who knows me knows that that's saying something. Some of my dear, dear friends happen to come from Canada, and they're nice people.

On the positive side, after more than 35 years of having Prime Ministers who were millionaire lawyers from Quebec, we now have someone from Alberta in that office who is neither a lawyer nor a millionaire nor a frenchman. On the downside, even though the person who becomes Prime Minister in Canada is the leader of the party which has the largest number of elected members in our Parliament, unfortunately the Conservative Party does not have enough elected members to form a majority. This means that in order to pass any legislation, our Prime Minister must come to a compromise on an issue by issue basis for each and everything he wants to do. What are his options? a. A compromise with the second largest party, the Liberals, whose leader is a french Quebecer and whose political platform is stolen directly from Al Gore's playbook. b. A compromise with third largest party - the Block Quebecois. The party's name says it all. c. A compromise with the smallest party in our Parliament whose leader has been dubbed "Taliban Jack" by the press. Need I add more? I certainly don't envy Prime Minister Harper his job!
